Pokemon Style characters

Originally titled "Pokemon Princesses", but now that I've drawn other characters too it needed a new name.

I've seen people trying to imitate Ken Sugimori's (the pokemon artist) style a lot on art sites, and I wanted to give it a shot as well. For a reason I don't quite know I decided to draw Disney princesses.

People comment a lot on what type of gym leaders they could be. Actually they're not trying to be gym leaders at all, so if your first thought is "that is a gym leader design!" I failed at what I was trying to do. Gym leaders have a wide variety of stuff they wear; the poison gym leader wears a ninja outfit, the water gym leader has a swimsuit, the rock gym leader wears something you could wear in a mine etc. An then there's random stuff like whatever Skyla, Winona, Clair and Brycen wear, and so on. But I wasn't aiming at that. If I were I would have drawn Ariel in a swimsuit, Aurora in a gardening outfit, Mulan in an armour etc etc etc. But I didn't, because I was trying to design them as "pokemon trainers", similar to the player characters. Something like an average kid going on adventures in the pokemon world where the average fashion design just happens to be like this.
